WHO I WORK WITH

I work with high-performing adults, tweens, and teens who work and play in demanding, high-stress environments, such as executives, athletes, dancers, first responders, healthcare providers, teachers, attorneys, and military members and spouses.

I also support individuals dealing with women's health and hormonal concerns throughout their lifespan, from menarche to menopause, including PMS, PMDD, perimenopause, PCOS, and fertility issues. Additionally, I help those experiencing gastrointestinal symptoms and conditions, as well as hormonal imbalances and mood dysregulation where stress and sleep play particularly critical roles — such as with perimenopause, underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism), GLP-1 medication use (Ozempic, etc.), and metabolic "lifestyle" diseases, like type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, atherosclerosis, and NAFLD/MASLD.

MY APPROACH

I use evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle practices grounded in a functional medicine and Ayurveda foundation. This creates a West-meets-East approach that combines best practices with the newest research while honoring the body and mind as a holistic ecosystem. I use food, nutrition, select supplements and herbs, labs (when needed), and lifestyle to influence the function of the body.

MY BACKGROUND

I have a doctorate in clinical nutrition, a Master’s in functional medicine and human nutrition, and certifications in Ayurveda, yoga, and reiki; I also am a full spectrum doula and have been trained as a birth and labor doula. I’ve been in practice for nearly 10 years, and enjoy helping individuals with chronic stress avoid (or recover from) burnout and discover how they can tap into good stress while decreasing harmful stress. I’m passionate about helping individuals find their personal, unique definition of balance.

I also serve as an advisor to food, FemTech, health and wellness, and climate/sustainability startups, where I apply my expertise in nutrition and physiology alongside nearly 25 years of marketing and product strategy experience in the tech space to support the businesses shaping the future of health and wellness.

WHY I LOVE THIS WORK

I am driven by a deep commitment to making a positive impact on the world around me — especially for high-achieving, high-performing women who often pour everything into their work, families, and passions while minimizing their own health and needs. I have experienced and witnessed firsthand how chronic stress, hormonal imbalances, gut issues, and poor sleep can quietly erode performance, confidence, and joy. What fuels my work is the privilege of helping individuals reclaim their energy, mental clarity, and sense of balance — not through deprivation or one-size-fits-all solutions, but through evidence-based, personalized nutrition and lifestyle strategies that actually work for their real lives. I believe deeply that food IS function, and when we properly nourish our bodies and minds, we can cultivate the behaviors and balance we need to truly thrive. There's nothing more rewarding than watching a client rediscover what optimal health feels like—and realizing they had the power to get there all along.

A BIT MORE ABOUT ME...

My first brush with burnout came at 16 as a pre-professional classical ballet dancer — an experience that shook me to my core and left me questioning everything, from my future plans to my sense of self. As a young adult, the removal of a benign thyroid tumor forced me into hypothyroidism. For years, my thyroid remained stable... until it wasn't. I found myself having to relearn what foods and activities worked for my body — a frustrating journey, because 1) there was painfully little information about nutrition for hypothyroidism (back then), and 2) food is my love language; I enjoy it more than any one person probably should. Simultaneously, I was working in high-stress corporate environments where burnout was worn like a badge of honor.

I'm passionate about working with individuals navigating chronic stress and hormonal imbalances, because I know firsthand the power nutrition has to transform health and wellbeing. I've made it a personal mission to ensure no one has to figure it out alone the way I did.

Outside of work, I love to travel, dance ballet, scuba dive, and spend time with my husband, dog, and 19-year-old cat.

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

“Helena was so easy to work with, as she is an amazing listener. My action plan was well thought out and easy to follow. I would definitely recommend her.” - Jen

As a client of Helena’s, I was immediately impressed by her thorough intake process, which included a detailed review of my health history, concerns, and goals. Her exceptional diagnostic skills and personalized dietary and lifestyle recommendations significantly improved my energy, sleep, and stress management. She broke down her recommendations into smaller, manageable steps that I have been able to incorporate into my daily routine. Over the years, Helena has been a reliable source of thoughtful guidance, practical solutions, and unwavering support. I wholeheartedly recommend her.” - L.V.

“I highly recommend the services of Dr. Helena Fowler. I was referred to Dr. Fowler by a dear friend that is a massage therapist. I’d been experiencing vitiligo for about 3 months and was hoping that by improving my gut and overall health I may be able to mitigate if not eliminate the issue. With my first conversation with Helena she made me feel comfortable and clearly explained her process. She was very thorough, knowledgeable, and considerate during our meetings. She provided me with a detailed personalized return of findings report and health audit. With the recommendations in her report, which included a recommended diet, supplements and herbs, exercise, and things I could do to improve my mental health, I was able implement changes that improved both my vitiligo and my overall health within a few months. Helena provided additional support through weekly check ins, and I know that she’s still available for me if I need further support on my continued path to better health.” - Nicole

“Helena was an absolute pleasure to work with and made you feel seen without any judgement of your current lifestyle. I felt like I could really lay everything out on the table and she would take it all in to give an accurate recommendation. With her expertise you can tell she is experienced, has done the research and isn't just giving you the webMD solution. I would highly recommend working with Helena for anyone looking to really take a deep reflection into their routine and make a change.” - M.K.

She had wonderful advice and she came up with a personalized treatment plan for me that she explained and made easy to follow. I can’t say how highly I recommended a session enough. Thank you Dr Fowler!” - Anonymous
